$127,871 earner REF Black Mamba Offered in the Solo Select Thanksgiving Sale

For breeders seeking a proven stallion with a legacy already in motion, Hip No. 54 in the Solo Select Thanksgiving Sale presents that rare opportunity in REF Black Mamba.

REF Black Mamba is an NRHA earner of $127,871 and a standout performer in his own right. As a 3-year-old, he claimed fourth in the NRHA Open Futurity under the guidance of NRHA $3 million man Jordan Larson.

Mamba's trainer and NRHA $3 million man Jordan Larson describes him as “an absolute freak stopper… a freaky athletic horse with a really unique way of going.”

REF Black Mamba is by Jacs Electric Spark, a $4.3 million sire and the sire of Electric Code ($215,402 LTE).

His dam, Metermaid To Order (by Doc O’Lena), has produced $405,257, including Shine By The Bay ($178,643 LTE, 516 AQHA points, and two AQHA World Championships in Junior and Senior Working Cow Horse) and Custom Made To Order, the NRHA Open World Champion Mare by Custom Crome.

From the start, Mamba moved differently.

He could turn, circle, and handle pressure with the kind of presence that separates good horses from great ones.

“No matter where we showed, he always showed great. He was just a special show horse.” — Jordan Larson

Across 11 foal crops, “Mamba” has proven his siring ability through numerous money-earners such as Had Us At Hello ($60,000+ LTE, 50 AQHA points); Schwagger (64.5 AQHA points and fifth in the Rocky Mountain RHA Summer Slide Stallion Stakes Open Futurity); and Night Time Mamba, an Open Derby Reserve Champion. His influence extends into the Appaloosa breed as well, where he has sired multiple champions including Fly A Lil High and Ts Chloe, the ApHC High Point Open Ranch Reining Champion.

Among his most decorated offspring is Fly A Lil High (“Wanda”). Her résumé includes:

Beyond the accolades, REF Black Mamba brings the temperament and usability breeders value most. He is kind, uncomplicated, easy to collect, and possesses the quiet mind stallions are so often missing. Though he has not been ridden in recent years, he is sound, straightforward, and would leg back up easily. He was last shown during his 4- or 5-year-old year, with his career shortened through no fault of his own.

Mamba consistently sires foals with practical build and ideal working-horse proportions—typically between 14.3 and 15.1 hands—with strong bone, big feet, and the structural integrity riders demand.
