Solo Select Racing has officially opened applications to consign select yearlings to the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale this September, continuing their commitment to offering top-tier prospects on one of the biggest stages in the racing industry.
The success Solo Select experienced in 2024 and in 2025 was no accident. At the heart of it was a world-class fitting program, led by one of the industry’s most respected sales fitters, Dustin Price. Backed by decades of experience, Dustin—alongside Dawson Price and Hayden Dixon—forms a true “dream team” in the barn. Their unmatched expertise, combined with Solo Select’s next-level marketing, creates a formula that’s simply without comparison.

In 2025, TEN Solo Select Racing-fit yearlings hit and surpassed the $100,000 mark at Ruidoso.
In 2024, a Solo Select Racing-fit yearling, Tres Of Dynasty (FDD Dynasty x A Tres Of Paint) sold for $300,000. Another two yearlings surpassed the $200,000 mark.
2025 - $2.4 MILLION in total sale

The Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale is widely recognized as the top destination for elite Quarter Horse prospects. Held annually at Ruidoso Downs, each edition saw record-breaking results, drawing top buyers and consignors from across the country.
Bloodstock agents like Butch Wise begin scouting horses months in advance, focusing on conformation, pedigree, and subtle performance indicators—especially those tied to past Ruidoso success. With so many yearlings cataloged, Wise stresses the need for a complete package, not just strong bloodlines.
The selection process includes extensive travel through key regions such as Texas, Oklahoma, and California. Both sides of a horse’s pedigree must impress for it to stand out in such a competitive arena. Once chosen, yearlings head to our elite fitting barns, where Dustin Price oversees individualized prep programs. Everything from feed to grooming is customized to highlight each horse’s strengths.
