How it pays
Two sides of one pot.
The Reined Cow Horse pot splits the same way as every Solo Select discipline pot. You can qualify for both sides at once.
- Sire Payout · 60%
- For the horses. Ride an offspring of a stallion enrolled this year, place at the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity, and you draw from the sire side. A foal's eligibility follows its sire's current enrollment.
- Contract Payout · 40%
- For the believers. Hold a paid 2026 breeding contract to an enrolled stallion and compete on any horse you own or ride — by any sire.

What is the Solo Select Reined Cow Horse Incentive?
It's one of Solo Select's own incentive programs — $154,500 projected for 2026, funded by Solo Select and its stallion owners and paid at the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity across the Open, Intermediate, Limited, Level 1 divisions. It pays 60% to riders of enrolled stallions' offspring (the Sire Payout) and 40% to holders of same-year breeding contracts (the Contract Payout).
Does my horse have to be by a Solo Select stallion?
No. The Contract Payout — 40% of the pot — is open to any horse by any sire, as long as the registered owner or rider holds a paid 2026 breeding contract to an enrolled Solo Select stallion. One paid contract equals one entry. Ride an offspring of an enrolled stallion and you compete for the Sire Payout as well — you can qualify for both sides at once.
Is there a nomination fee?
No. Solo Select's own incentive programs have no nomination or enrollment fees. Nominating simply designates the horse you're entering under your paid 2026 contract.
Does eligibility carry over from year to year?
No. Stallion enrollment is determined annually and can change from year to year. Offspring compete for the Sire Payout only in years their sire is enrolled, and a contract qualifies you only for the year it was purchased.
Do rebreeds or contracts bought from another breeder qualify?
No. Contracts are not transferable — a contract purchased from another individual is not eligible, and rebreed contracts do not qualify. Fresh-semen contracts must be used in the year of purchase; ICSI contracts must be used within one year.
