Added Money Surpasses $250,000 for Solo Select Stallion Incentive
The Solo Select Stallion Incentive is gaining momentum faster than ever, with added money now exceeding $251,000.
Announced in fall 2024, the goal for the first Solo Select Incentive Futurity was to reach $330,000 in added money, and with stallion books still open, the program is already over 75% of the way there.
"With the rush of the 2025 breeding season still ahead, there's no telling how high the added money will climb—but one thing is certain: the **Solo Select Stallion Incentive is setting a new standard in rope horse futurities," **said Solo Select Founder Melanie Smith.
Designed to elevate the rope horse industry, the Solo Select Stallion Incentive provides breeders, owners, and trainers with an exclusive opportunity to compete for substantial payouts. The format is straightforward: breed to a Solo Select Incentive stallion in 2025, and that foal will be eligible to rope for even more money in 2030. Additionally, a 2025 breeding contract grants one entry into the 2025 futurity with a proxy horse.
The Futurity Format for the Solo Select Stallion Incentive
Each breeding to a Solo Select Incentive stallion secures one entry into the inaugural Solo Select Stallion Incentive Futurity. The event will feature:
- $1,000 Open Entry Fee – Judged by three judges, with a fourth score based on time.
- Intermediate & Open Short Rounds – The Intermediate division is capped at a 6.5 header and 8.0 heeler and has a $500 entry fee, with 100% payback.
- Crossover Eligibility – If a horse qualifies for both the Open and Intermediate short rounds, its score will roll into the Intermediate but will only compete in the Open short round.
