Pride And Joyy Makes History as Stevie Rey Von’s #1 Earner

Pride And Joyy Makes History as Stevie Rey Von’s #1 Earner

**Greatness doesn’t always announce itself—but with Pride And Joyy, it was clear from the start. **

**From a promising colt bred by Solo Select's Ty Smith, to a reined cow horse Open Futurity Finalist, to a World Champion Rope Horse, he has rewritten what versatility looks like. **

After this week’s Royal Crown, Pride And Joyy’s earnings climbed to $363,780—surpassing every other foal of Stevie Rey Von to become his sire’s number one earner.

Few horses in the western performance world have managed to cross disciplines and dominate quite like Pride And Joyy.

The 2019 bay roan stallion, sired by NCHA Futurity Champion Stevie Rey Von and out of Fun And Fancy Free by Peptoboonsmal, has officially become his sire’s all-time leading money earner with lifetime earnings of $363,780.

Raised at Solo Select on behalf of Renee Cudd, originally bred by Ty Smith and now owned by Kilo Partners, Pride And Joyy—known around the barn as “Kilo”—first turned heads in the reined cow horse pen.

Under Chris Dawson, he earned over $50,000 as a 3-year-old, highlighted by a top finish at the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity. But it was his transition into the roping arena that cemented his legacy.

In the spring of his 4-year-old year, Kilo was purchased back by Smith in partnership with Miles Baker and 26-time World Champion Trevor Brazile. The Relentless Remuda crew put him straight to work as a heel horse, and the results came fast. His natural feel, timing, and ability with a cow made the transition seamless. Within 60 days of his first runs, he was already a standout on the futurity stage. Kaleb Terlip bought into the stallion in 2024 and has owned him alongside the Relentless and Solo team for the exciting ride.

Since then, Pride And Joyy has rewritten the record books. He became the winningest futurity rope horse of all time by the end of 2024, stacking victories at the Royal Crown Futurities, major AQHA shows, and culminating in the 2024 AQHA Junior Heeling World Championship with Miles Baker aboard.

Now, by surpassing $363,000 in career earnings, Pride And Joyy steps into a new kind of spotlight: carrying Stevie Rey Von’s banner as his highest-earning offspring. With over $19 million in total foal earnings, Stevie Rey Von is already one of the most influential sires of his generation. That his leading earner is excelling outside of cutting, in the roping and cow horse pens, speaks volumes about the versatility and impact of his bloodline.

This announcement comes on the heels of back-to-back industry-shaking moments.

First, Stevie Rey Von’s daughter, Crosby Rey Von, made waves across the entire horse world when she sold for $1.7 million at the Old West Sale as a head horse prospect—shattering records and redefining value in the rope horse market. Just weeks later, Theorem Ranch, with the guidance of Team Roping World Champion Colby Lovell, purchased Stevie Rey Von himself.

It’s a sign of the times: a new wave of buyers is entering the performance horse business, and their focus encompasses the entire western performance industry—but with a sharp spotlight on team roping.

“This horse has been special from the very beginning,” said Ty Smith of Solo Select. “From raising him, to buying him back, to watching him take Trevor and Miles to the winner’s circle—he’s proven himself in every way possible. For him to now stand as Stevie Rey Von’s number one earner is something we’re really proud of. I have been Stevie's number one fan since Alvin bought him. We have bred a lot of mares to him every year. I loved Kilo's mother, and I am not suprised he has had so much success. He has been an exceptional individual since day one.”

Pride And Joyy booked full in 2025. His 2026 contracts are now open at https://www.soloselecthorses.com/stallions/pride-and-joyy
