OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - Solo Select and Relentless Remuda's broodmare Runawayheart's bay yearling filly Dynamite Tres, by Tres Seis, brought a final bid of $100,000 for consigner Jordan Wiggins in the Sept. 22 Heritage Place Quarter Horse Yearling Sale.
Runawayheart has been one of the premier Select Genes mares. Solo Select and the Relentless Remuda purchased the mare in 2021, and the daughter of First Down Dash had produced $239,590 to date. The partners bred her to Stevie Rey Von, The Darkk Side and for 2024 foals.

"We purchased this mare to breed premier rope-horse futurity prospects initially, but we have all intentions of continuing to cross her on race horse sires to keep our options open," Solo Select founder Melanie Smith said. "We feel this mare's size, bone and structure are ideal for our cow-horse crosses. However, we intend to breed her to The Darkk Side, Pride And Joyy 'Kilo', Woody Be Tuff and several race horses in 2024."
Shortly after purchase, Runawayheart joined the Select Genes platform.
"We set Select Genes up to give breeders access to world-class mares, without having to purchase them," Smith said. "This situation is a perfect example of our mission. Everyone has the opportunity to purchase an aspiration out of this mare. Having a yearling out of her bring $100,000 shows that, done correctly, this program can work as an exceptional investment opportunity for our customers."

Runawayheart will be available for limited Select Genes bookings for 2024 to stallions approved by Solo Select and Relentless Remuda. Aspirations for early implantation in 2024 have already begun.
"We want to continue to protect the integrity of our mare by crossing her on the right stallions. We would love to discuss stallion options with interested parties this fall," Smith said. "We are freezing embryos now to implant in February. With the addition of Select Reproduction, we will be able to serve our customers needs better than ever. Early foals are ideal in this business, and we will be in a position to get these thawed embryos implanted in a timely manner for 2024."
