The daughter of Dirty Fling and Painted Lady came through the Solo Select Horses and Relentless Remuda breeding program. She topped a 65-head catalog comprising 50 3-year-olds, 12 2-year-olds and three yearlings.

Tyson Benson started the mare before she entered training with Baker and Brazile. Dirty Deed will remain in Miles Baker and Trevor Brazile’s program and be campaigned through her futurity career by Relentless Remuda.

“I knew she was good all along,” Baker said. “Ty Benson had told me about her and told me I needed to look at her. David Zito owned her, and he also owns her sire, Dirty Fling, so he wanted to make a deal with us to take her.”

Baker said Brazile’s assessment strengthened his confidence in the mare.

“He rode her, and he was like, ‘Man, she feels amazing. She’s mature, she can run, everything felt good,’” Baker said. “But then I’d start hearing him say, ‘That’s probably the best 3-year-old mare I’ve ever rode.’”

Bred Through the Solo Select Program

Solo Select’s Ty Smith purchased Painted Lady and bred her to Dirty Fling to produce Dirty Deed. Smith said the filly distinguished herself early.

“She was extremely good from the very start,” Smith said. “She was a pretty yearling and was really good as a 2-year-old.”

Dirty Deed sold as a yearling to long time Solo Select customer Jake Matthews, who decided to sell her in her two-year-old year. Ty Smith acted as agent in the sale to Zito Equine. Smith also sold Painted Lady to Doug Dickey, while Solo Select continues to handle the mare’s reproductive work.

Painted Lady is a 2019 daughter of PYC Paint Your Wagon out of SS Southern Lady, by Valiant Hero. She earned an AQHA racing Register of Merit, $4,444 and an 87 speed index in five starts.

The production record extends through SS Southern Lady, a daughter of Valiant Hero out of First Prize Robin, by Mr Jess Perry. Her 10 registered foals include nine starters, eight Register of Merit earners and seven race winners. They have earned $152,445, led by Southern Tres at $35,166.

Painted Lady’s full brother SS Wagon Painted Bay earned $24,682 and reached a 98 speed index.

First-Crop Validation for Dirty Fling

Dirty Deed belongs to Dirty Fling’s first foal crop, which will enter its first 4-year-old show season in 2027. Dirty Fling is a 2019 red roan stallion by Metallic Cat out of Streak Of Gin, by A Streak Of Fling. Owned by David Zito, he stands at Solo Select Horses in Gainesville, Texas.

Breeders can lock in Dirty Fling’s early-booking special through Dec. 31 and secure an early-booking contract with $500 down.

Dirty Fling was a switch-ender under Trevor Brazile. His performance record includes the 2023 Texas Best Rope Horse Graham Judged Open Heeling Futurity Reserve Championship, a Round 1 win in the 2023 Royal Crown Rock Springs Judged 4-&-Under Heading Futurity and the 2023 Royal Crown Oklahoma City Judged 4-&-Under Heading Futurity Semi-Pro sidepot championship.

Dirty Fling is tested homozygous for roan, so every foal he sires inherits roan.

Baker said Dirty Deed and another first-crop Dirty Fling prospect, Dirty Golde, have established the stallion’s position within the Relentless Remuda program. He said Brazile regarded Dirty Golde as his leading 3-year-old prospect throughout 2026 and Dirty Deed as the best 3-year-old mare he had ridden.

“These two horses have made me a believer in it, and we’ve got some really, really good mares that we’re going to breed to Dirty Fling next year because of these two horses,” Baker said. “They’re just that special.”

Dirty Deed’s $1.3 million sale connects every stage of that program: the Solo Select and Relentless Remuda breeding decision, Painted Lady’s maternal family, Dirty Fling’s first crop and the development work behind the mare.

“Cracklin J and the Zito family said they wanted the best mares there was, and they were completely not bluffing when they said that,” Baker said. “They’ve got the goods.”

Dirty Fling’s early-booking special is available through Dec. 31. Book through the Solo Select client portal with $500 down.
