The Solo Select Stallion Incentive was announced in the fall of 2024 with the goal of reaching $330,000 in added money for ropers to compete for at the very first futurity in 2025.
As of January 14th, before breeding season has even begun, Solo Select has already secured over 66% of that goal, with stallion books still open!
The Solo Select Stallion Incentive is designed to bring more money to the rope horse industry for breeders, owners, and trainers by offering an exclusive format. The premise is simple: breed to a Solo Select Incentive stallion this year, and the resulting foal will be eligible to rope for even more money in 2030. A 2025 breeding contract will cover one entry for the 2025 futurity with a proxy horse.
Breeding to specific stallions in the Solo lineup will allow one entry into the futurity. The entry fee will be $1,000, with three judges and a fourth score based on time. With both an Intermediate and Open short round, the payout will be based on four head. The Intermediate will be capped at a 6.5 header and an 8.0 heeler. The entry fee for the Intermediate will be $500, and participants will be roping for 100% of their money. If a horse qualifies for the Open short round but the rider is also eligible for the Intermediate short round, the horse will go straight to the Open short round, with its score rolling into the Intermediate.
