Wolverrine and Jaguarr Stand ICSI-Only at Solo Select Horses

Updated: 4 hours ago

Two barrel racing stallions from the most influential bloodlines in the industry–one actively competing and one whose legacy continues through his offspring–are now standing as ICSI-only stallions at Solo Select: Wolverrine and Jaguarr.

Both stallions are owned by Mill Iron Livestock of Czar, Alberta, and backed by pedigrees that speak for themselves. Each is sired by a leading barrel racing stallion and both are out of “Rosa”, the buckskin mare made famous under Lisa Lockhart. Rosas Cantina CC, the 6-time NFR qualifier, is still winning under Lisa Lockhart, actively adding to her $677,000 LTE.

Wolverrine

Wolverrine is a 2020 buckskin stallion by The Goodbye Lane out of Rosas Cantina CC by Corona Cartel. The Goodbye Lane was 2025’s top barrel racing sire by a huge margin with a fast-growing $17 million in progeny earnings. Wolverrine carries a pedigree that set expectations high from the start—and he has continued to meet them.

He was started on the pattern by Lynn Kohr and is now campaigned by Kit McCall Johnson. Despite a later start to his futurity season to welcome Johnson’s son to the world, the pair quickly found their rhythm. After showing promise at early jackpots, they placed second in the 1D in their competitive debut. Wolverrine then captured his first futurity championship at the very first futurity he entered and followed it with multiple futurity sidepot wins.

He brings a big personality to match his ability—fun-loving, competitive, gritty, and focused in the arena.

According to Johnson, what truly separates him goes beyond pedigree or accolades.

“He has great legs, great bone, and good feet. All the things people look for,” she explains. “But what’s really special is how strong and efficiently it all ties together.”

She describes how his back muscles stay consistently engaged, creating a powerful connection between his front and hind end. That structural strength gives him efficiency and balance through his turns—an edge that’s difficult to quantify but easy to feel.

“Sometimes horses look like they’re put together by committees,” Johnson says. “They have all the parts, but they don’t always go together. He just fits it all together in the most efficient way.”

That strength and connectivity are traits Johnson believes he will consistently pass on to his offspring — horses with the parts, and more importantly, the cohesion to use them.

Because Wolverrine is actively building his performance record, he will stand ICSI-only.

Jaguarr

Jaguarr was a 2017 sorrel stallion by Dash Ta Fame out Rosas Cantina CC by Corona Cartel. As the all-time leading barrel racing sire, Dash Ta Fame represents a level of proven genetics that speaks for itself.

Trained by Lynn Kohr and futurity campaigned by Ryann Pedone, Jaguarr earned the YETI Classic Futurity Average WPRA Incentive Reserve Championship and qualified for the finals at the GRIDIRON Barrels Breeders Futurity. He was finding his stride at every level before his untimely passing.

Jaguarr embodied the very best of his bloodlines. Correctly built, sharp-minded, and remarkably composed for a young stud, his presence was hard to overlook. Those who knew him say his kindness matches his talent, a rare combination in a performance stallion. He was a personable, affectionate horse in the barn, but all business when it was time to work.

Kit McCall Johnson, who has ridden many of his offspring, points first to their mindset.

“The number one thing about those horses is their trainability,” she says. “They really like to work, and they really like to do what you ask.”

His colts are becoming known for their minds. They want to work. They want to do what’s asked. They adapt to their rider and rise to the job in front of them no matter the discipline. His first foal crop is already making an impact. Nittyy Grittyy, campaigned by Abby Fields, has surpassed $67,000 in earnings. Wyldcat, a money earner in the reined cow horse, is proof that his offspring can excel far beyond what their barrel pedigree might suggest.

In 2025, Jaguarr broke into the Top 50 barrel racing sires, a notable achievement for a young stallion with limited foal crops to represent him. As more of his colts enter the arena, the expectation is that his impact will continue to grow.
