Solo Select Horses continues to strengthen its Select Genes broodmare program with the acquisition of Camilla The Cat, a $93,461 earning daughter of WR This Cats Smart whose accomplishments in the show pen and success as a producer make her a valuable addition to the program.

A Performance Record That Speaks for Itself

Before establishing herself as a producer, Camilla The Cat built an impressive career in the show pen, earning $93,461 and accumulating 22.5 AQHA points.

In 2013, Camilla The Cat, shown by Jake Telford, was Reserve Champion of the National Stock Horse Association (NSHA) Reined Cow Horse Open Futurity. In 2014, she added the NRCHA Open Stallion Stakes Herd Work Championship, demonstrating the athleticism, cow sense and versatility that have made her bloodlines so desirable.

A Proven Producer With the Pedigree to Back It Up

Camilla The Cat has already demonstrated her ability to pass on her talent, producing multiple money earners, including Hey Ol Son, an earner of $76,257.

Hey Ol Son earned the NRCHA Intermediate Open Stallion Stakes Reserve Championship, along with Reserve Championship honors in the Preliminary Fence Work.

Camilla The Cat is sired by WR This Cats Smart, a $21.4 million sire, whose influence can be found throughout the performance horse industry.

On the maternal side, she is out of Bit Of Starlight, a $73,929 earner and PCCHA 4-Year-Old Open Stakes Reserve Champion. Bit Of Starlight is a daughter of the legendary Grays Starlight, adding another influential bloodline to an already exceptional pedigree.

With proven performance on both sides of her pedigree and successful offspring already to her credit, Camilla The Cat offers the combination of genetics and production that breeders seek when making long-term investments in their programs.

Investing in the Next Generation

Adding to the excitement surrounding her acquisition, Camilla The Cat sold with two frozen ICSI embryos by Magicality, creating additional opportunities to build on her established maternal line.

For Solo Select Horses, acquisitions like Camilla The Cat are an important part of the continued development of the Select Genes program.

The goal is not simply to assemble a large broodmare band. It is to build a collection of mares whose records, pedigrees and production histories give breeders confidence in the genetics behind their next generation of performance horses.

Camilla The Cat has already proven what she can do in the show pen and what she can produce. Now, as part of Select Genes, her influence has the opportunity to reach even further.

Her addition marks another investment in the quality, depth and future of the Solo Select broodmare program.
