Behind the Fitting Program
Maria Gutierrez has led the Solo Select Fitting Program for several years. Her crew added Evan Moffitt this year.
Every horse in the program receives:
• Individual nutrition plans. Through Solo Select’s partnership with Hubbard Feeds, each horse is fed on a program built for its growth, conditioning and bloom.
• Tailored conditioning. Facilities designed with safety as the first priority allow individual exercise programs that prepare young horses physically and mentally for the sale ring and the arena.
• Targeted marketing. Each prospect is marketed to put it in front of the right buyers.
The Select Genes broodmare band
Two Select Genes mares account for three of the six finalists. Luminnous produced Tuff Like A Lion. Shiners Tuff Chic produced two finalists by two different sires: Vudu Chic, by Stevie Rey Von, in the Open, and My Chic Hood, by Metallic Cat, in the Intermediate Open.
Solo Select is booking 2027 breedings. The team works with breeders aiming for the cow horse, cutting and roping pens to match mares and stallions from its roster to their performance goals.
Good luck in Fort Worth
Solo Select congratulates the owners, riders, grooms and breeders behind all six finalists and will be cheering on its graduates and offspring in the finals.
