Third Edge daughters, a Shining Spark son and colts out of six-figure mares headline the Solo Select consignment Oct. 23-24 in Fort Worth.

Solo Select Horses will present 57 horses at the 2026 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Sales Oct. 23-24 at Watt Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, including two daughters of NCHA Horse of the Year Third Edge, a son of Hall of Famer Shining Spark and young horses out of mares that earned more than $100,000 in the show pen.

The sales run alongside the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity, where the sport's best young horses compete on its biggest stage. Solo Select's consignment spans the Select 2-Year-Old Sale and both sessions of the Select Yearling & Broodmare Sale, and every horse is conditioned, presented and represented by the Solo Select team.

Three dams in the consignment earned more than $100,000 apiece, and others have already produced NRCHA, NCHA and AQHA champions.

Two-Year-Olds

Hip No. 1003, Texxas Holdem, is a 2024 sorrel colt by Woody Be Tuff out of ARC Ruby Playgunia, consigned by Josh Townsend as agent for Solo Select Horses LLC and in training with Townsend.

ARC Ruby Playgunia earned $207,186 and won the Abilene Spectacular Open Classic. Her dam, Ruby Bagonia, produced $917,493 in earners, led by Rubys Radar ($294,439), the NRCHA World's Greatest Horseman Reserve Champion and Run For A Million RCH Fence Challenge Champion.

Hip No. 1006, Cuff It, is a 2024 sorrel filly by NCHA Open Futurity Champion Stevie Rey Von out of Shiners Tuff Chic, in training with Tyson Benson.

Buyers can watch the 2-year-olds at the preview at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, before they sell on cattle Friday morning.

Out of SS Blacks Lil Kitty

Hip No. 3146, Yella Belly, is a 2025 palomino colt out of SS Blacks Lil Kitty, a mare who has proven herself in the show pen, in the breeding barn and through a second generation of champions. He is by Hall of Famer Shining Spark.

SS Blacks Lil Kitty earned $188,241 herself and has produced $678,407 in earners. Her best known, Blackish ($400,196), won the Run For A Million Cutting Challenge Open and then produced NCHA Open Futurity Champion Minkish ($782,044), making SS Blacks Lil Kitty the second dam of a futurity champion. She comes from one of cutting's strongest families as a full sister to NCHA Horse of the Year Kittennish ($1,031,926) and a half sister to NCHA Horse of the Year All Spice ($571,049). Yella Belly is consigned by Solo Select as agent for Paul Gober and sells Saturday.

Third Edge: Two Fillies, Two Families

Third Edge, the NCHA Horse of the Year and NCHA Open Derby Champion, earned $342,528, and his first foals are 2-year-olds in 2026. Friday's yearling session includes two of his daughters, both consigned by Solo Select as agent for Paul Gober.

Hip No. 2054, Fashionissta, is a sorrel filly out of Dressin Up, a Peptoboonsmal daughter and NRCHA Open Futurity finalist. Dressin Up has produced seven money-earners, including Kitty Corona ($57,293). Her dam, Smartly Dressed, produced Shine Smartly ($130,516), an AQHA World Champion and NRCHA World's Greatest Horseman Reserve Champion.

Hip No. 2057, Stackin That Paper, is a red roan filly out of Flat Baroque, also by Peptoboonsmal. Flat Baroque earned $91,905 as the Breeders Invitational Open Classic Reserve Champion and Southern Cutting Limited Open Classic Champion, and her offspring have earned checks in cutting, cow horse and roping. Her second dam, Scooters Stylish Oak, earned $132,333 and produced $809,494 in earners.

The Mares Behind the Names

Hip No. 2004, Electric Cowboy, is a 2025 sorrel colt by Stevie Rey Von out of One Sparking Time, an NRCHA Open Futurity finalist. His second dam, Sparking Train, earned $112,274 and 212.5 AQHA points, won the AQHA World Championship in Senior Heading and produced $614,924 in earners. They include Bet He Sparks ($308,539), the NRCHA Open Derby Champion, and Metallic Train ($185,900), the NRCHA World Open Hackamore Champion.

Playgirls Miss Grace has a colt in each yearling session. Hip No. 2008, Thunda Downunder, sells Friday, and Hip No. 3049, Liqa Sto, sells Saturday. Both are 2025 colts by Stevie Rey Von. Their dam earned $100,984 and placed third in the NRCHA Open Futurity, and she produced Playgirls Merada Cat ($85,344), an NRCHA Open Futurity finalist.

Shiners Tuff Chic has three offspring in the consignment, all by Stevie Rey Von: Cuff It in the 2-year-old sale, Hip No. 2020, Bad Chic Energy, on Friday and Hip No. 3102, Jus My Type, on Saturday. Shiners Tuff Chic won the Reno RCH Limited Open Futurity, and her first foal, My Chic Hood, won the SRCHA Intermediate Open Futurity in 2026. Her dam, My Boots Are Tuff, is an AQHA VRH World All-Around Open Champion and NRCHA World Limited Open Hackamore Champion who produced $539,276 in earners, including NRCHA World's Greatest Horseman Champion Seven S Tuff Boots ($89,278).

Hip No. 2037 offers the first foal out of Tazzy Es Savvy, the NRCHA Western Open Derby Champion with $194,307 in earnings, by Scooter Kat, the $679,248 earner and Run For A Million Reined Cow Horse Challenge Open Champion. Selling as a foal in utero, this cross pairs two accomplished cow horses and gives buyers the opportunity to own the first chapter of Tazzy Es Savvy’s production career.
