The momentum continues for Solo Select stallions at the 2024 Breeder’s Invitational Derby. John Mitchell and Slate River Ranch’s Country Money—a daughter of Metallics MVP out of Reyzmehot—marked an impressive 221.5 to currently hold the second-highest score of the Derby.
The young mare has been a standout from the beginning. She was no stranger to the spotlight even before entering the show pen, having appeared on Metallics MVP’s social media as part of “Next In Line.” With her striking presence and athletic ability, she garnered buzz early on—and now she’s living up to every bit of it in the arena.
“She really stops, and she’s got a neat way through the turn,” said John Mitchell in October. “She’s got this bright, electric look on a cow—you can’t miss it. She gets ahold of one and turns like she’s built for it. That presence, that intensity—it’s what makes her special.”
Sired by Metallics MVP, Country Money is part of a rising wave of MVP offspring turning heads in major events this year. With early success like this, the excitement around the stallion’s first foal crop is only growing.
Books are still open for Metallics MVP for the 2025 season.
