WOODWARD, Okla.—The Darkk Side x Chars Gun cross topped the 46th Annual Cudd Quarter Horses Production & Consignment Sale for the second straight year, with Hip 44, The Darkk Smoke, leading the 2026 honors as Solo Select's nine consignments brought $324,500 of the sale's $1.2 million gross June 13.
It is back-to-back high-selling honors for the same cross. For the second year running, the top lot at Cudd traced to The Darkk Side over Chars Gun, the cross the Solo Select archive calls exceptional. This year it was The Darkk Smoke who carried it.
The Darkk Side stands at Solo Select Horses, where the syndicate organized a few years ago has paid off well for the partners. He joins an active roster that includes , , , , , , , , , , , and . His offspring are eligible for the Solo Select cutting incentive under the program's NCHA partnership.
The stallion's reach runs through the catalog and the breeding barn alike. At Cudd, Lot 56 offered The Darkk Side himself as proven genetics for the arena and the breeding barn. In the Feb. 7 Solo Select Embryo Sale, a The Darkk Side x Carrera Cat embryo went up with a lifetime earnings figure of $9,145 behind it and a produce of $85,844.
The partner list keeps growing. 7K Quarter Horses' Kurt Neff is already a shareholder in The Darkk Side, and has since become an ownership partner in Metallic Cattack.
