The Solo Select stallion's signature cross repeats as high-seller, anchoring a $324,500 Cudd haul.
WOODWARD, Okla.—The Darkk Side x Chars Gun cross topped the 46th Annual Cudd Quarter Horses Production & Consignment Sale for the second straight year, with Hip 44, The Darkk Smoke, leading the 2026 honors at $64,000.
The Darkk Smoke is a 2025 stallion and a full brother to the cross that high-sold the same Cudd Sale a year ago. Two crops, two top-sellers, one cross. That is the kind of repeat that tells buyers where to look.
The Darkk Side stands at Solo Select Horses in Whitesboro, Texas, owned by The Darkk Side Syndicate. The syndicate has been a successful one, and counts Kurt Neff's 7K Quarter Horses among its shareholders. The Darkk Side x Chars Gun is the cross the Solo Select archive calls exceptional, and back-to-back high-sellers back the word with a number.
The Darkk Smoke headlined a deep Solo Select effort at Woodward. Solo Select consigned nine horses to the Cudd Sale, bringing $324,500 of the $1.2 million total. At least six of the nine sold for more than $30,000.
The Darkk Side's offspring are eligible for the Solo Select cutting incentive under the program's NCHA partnership, adding earning runway to the pedigree buyers are already chasing.
The stallion sits on a Solo Select roster that includes Hesa Dual Bet, LBR Hangem, Metallic Cattack, Metallics MVP, Meteles Cat, Once In A Blu Boon, Plain Catty, Pride And Joyy, The Animal, The Firemen, Third Edge, Time To Glo and Woody Be Tuff.
