Known for his success in the cutting industry, The Animal is starting to make waves in the rope horse world—and now he’s amplifying his presence on the roping side as a sponsor of the Solo Select Incentive Futurity.

Built for the Spotlight

Purchased by Cindy Perez in 2018, The Animal is an earner of over $260,000 and has been steadily building his influence in multiple disciplines. The Animal’s athleticism and trainability has translated across ranch riding, cutting and roping, with offspring excelling in top training programs. Sponsoring the Solo Select Incentive Futurity is a natural next step.

“I think the incentive program Melanie has built is outstanding. It puts rope horses in the spotlight, and that’s where The Animal belongs. I want to see him, his offspring, and this industry thrive, and that means being part of events that move everything forward.” — Cindy Perez

Powering Through the Storm

While horses are her passion, Perez is also the driving force behind Cat5 Resources, a certified minority, woman-owned business that has been operating for 12 years. Her company provides backup power solutions in natural disaster situations for wireless towers, logistics facilities, and major corporations such as T-Mobile, Verizon and Amazon.

Her disaster response work has taken her across the southeastern U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. From Hurricane Maria to Hurricane Harvey, her teams have powered airports, fueled generators, and delivered critical supplies when communities needed it most.

“When disaster strikes, we go into action. It’s about being there when people can’t afford for things to fail.” — Perez

Giving Back

Perez’s impact extends beyond breeding. She is actively involved in two nonprofits: Rope Like a Girl, which creates opportunities for women in Western sports, and the Loula Foundation, which supports women and children escaping abusive relationships.

“The Animal is a big supporter of Rope Like a Girl. For me, it’s important that these horses are tied to positive, meaningful efforts in the industry and beyond.” — Perez

From powering communities through disaster recovery to empowering women in and out of the arena, Perez is committed to making an impact that lasts. With The Animal fully enrolled in the Incentive and now stepping into the spotlight as a Solo Select Incentive Futurity sponsor, his influence is set to reach farther than ever before.
