Equine Veterinary Services · Gainesville, Texas

Care Built Around Your Horses. From the Arena to the Breeding Barn.

Haul in to Gainesville, or bring the Solo Select veterinary team to your barn for lameness and performance exams, imaging, injections, scoping, routine care, and more throughout North Texas, southern Oklahoma, and nationwide.

Start with what changed

When Something Changes, We Want the Whole Story

A horse starts swapping behind, resisting a turn, losing rate, or feeling short-strided. A mare stops cycling or becomes harder to breed. That is where this team comes in.

Tell us what the rider, trainer, or breeding manager has noticed. We will build the right workup, from lameness or reproductive evaluation to radiographs, ultrasound, or diagnostic blocks.

One Horse, a Full Barn, or the Week Before a Show

Bring one horse to Gainesville for a focused workup, or schedule the team to come to your farm in North Texas or southern Oklahoma. The appointment can be built around a specific performance concern, routine care, or several horses that need to be handled in the same visit.

For barns farther away, our veterinarians travel nationwide, including planned barn work before major shows. They can work through the horses that need exams, imaging, injections, scoping, or follow-up treatment before the trailers roll.

What You Can Schedule

Start with one horse, one concern, or a list for the whole barn. We will plan the visit around the work that actually needs to be done.

Lameness & Performance Exams

A systematic examination to identify where pain or restriction begins, using hands-on assessment, gait evaluation, flexion tests, hoof testers, and diagnostic blocks when indicated.

Radiographs & Ultrasound

Digital radiographs evaluate bone and joints. Musculoskeletal ultrasound evaluates tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissue, with follow-up imaging available to track healing.

Joint Injections, PRP & IRAP

Targeted joint therapy and regenerative treatment selected for the horse, the structure involved, and the work ahead, not a one-size-fits-all maintenance schedule.

Upper-Airway & Gastric Scoping

Upper-airway endoscopy helps investigate breathing and performance concerns. Gastroscopy provides a direct look at the esophagus and stomach when ulcers are suspected.

Shockwave & Laser Therapy

On-site therapeutic options to support healing and rehabilitation, paired with rechecks and a practical plan for returning the horse to work.

Wellness & Vaccinations

Scheduled wellness examinations and vaccination plans built around the horse's age, travel, competition schedule, and exposure risk.

One-Hour Rush Coggins

Official Coggins testing through our USDA-approved laboratory, with a one-hour rush option when a horse needs paperwork for travel, competition, or sale.

Wound Care & General Medicine

Scheduled evaluation and treatment for wounds, illness, and routine medical concerns, with the ability to follow the horse through recovery on the farm.

Pre-Purchase & Sale Exams

Physical, gait, lameness, and neurologic evaluation with radiographs, ultrasound, or laboratory testing added according to the horse and intended use.

Sale Radiographs

Radiograph sets for consignors preparing a horse for an online or live sale, completed to the sale's requested views and organized for repository or buyer review.

Sports Medicine & Lameness

Originally from North Idaho, Dr. Hannah Carter brings a lifetime of equestrian experience and a passion for sport horse medicine and lameness. A Mississippi State CVM graduate, she completed a competitive sports medicine fellowship at Mid South Equine and has spent years on the road at major AQHA shows, keeping horses sound and performing when it matters most.

Having grown up showing and competing in college rodeo, she has lived the pressure these horses are under firsthand. When she is not working, she is outside with her young daughter or running barrels herself.

Reproduction & Sports Medicine

Originally from West Tennessee, Dr. Shelby Horton grew up on a small cattle and horse farm and brings that hands-on background to a passion for theriogenology and reproduction, alongside lameness and sports medicine. An Auburn veterinary school graduate, she completed her rotating equine internship at ESMS in Weatherford, building broad experience before focusing on the areas she loves most.

Having grown up in the saddle, she brings a real feel for what horses and their people need, not just textbook knowledge. When she is not working, she is a big traveler who loves to ride and spend time with her standard poodle.
