Sports Medicine, On Site with Dr. Hannah Carter

Most operations haul out to a clinic and wait for a slot. Solo Select keeps a sports medicine veterinarian on the grounds. Dr. Hannah Carter, DVM, works where the horses live, so a shortened stride or a warm joint gets looked at the day it shows up, not the week after.

That matters most where soundness pays the bills: performance horses in training and sale horses in fitting. A small problem caught early is a small problem. Caught late, it costs a season.

What Dr. Carter Handles

Soundness, imaging, and the day-to-day care that keeps a performance horse working.

Lameness & Soundness Evaluation

Hands-on lameness workups and soundness exams, done on the grounds where the horse trains, so small changes get caught early.

Digital Imaging

Digital radiographs and ultrasound on site, for answers with data behind them instead of a wait on an outside clinic.

Joint Injections & Therapeutics

Targeted joint injections and therapeutic options to keep performance and sale horses comfortable and moving well.

Regenerative & Rehab

Regenerative therapies and a rehabilitation plan when a horse needs time and a path back to work.

Pre-Purchase & Sale Soundness

Pre-purchase and sale-soundness exams with imaging alongside, so buyers and sellers deal in facts.

Performance Maintenance

Ongoing soundness maintenance for horses in training and fitting, tuned to where they are in their season.

Sports Medicine FAQ

Who is the veterinarian on site?

Dr. Hannah Carter, DVM, is Solo Select's sports medicine veterinarian. She works on the same grounds where our horses train, get fit for the sale, and sell, so soundness is managed day to day, not scheduled weeks out.

Lameness and soundness evaluation, digital radiographs and ultrasound, joint injections and therapeutics, regenerative and rehabilitation options, and pre-purchase and sale-soundness exams. Call the office to discuss your horse.

Can Dr. Carter perform a pre-purchase exam?

Yes. Pre-purchase and sale-soundness exams are part of the sports medicine program, with digital imaging on site so buyers and sellers get answers with data behind them.

Do you handle Coggins, bloodwork, and lab testing?

That runs through Solo Select Diagnostics, our USDA-approved in-house lab, with a one-hour rapid Coggins option. See the lab diagnostics page for the full test menu.

What about reproduction, embryo transfer, and foaling vet care?

Our reproduction veterinarians handle breeding, flushes, ICSI, transfer, and 24/7 supervised foaling. Those live on the reproduction and recipient mare leasing pages.
