Magill Livestock Insurance Backs $620,000-Added Solo Select Rope Horse Futurity as Heeling Gold Sponsor

HAMILTON, Texas—Magill Livestock Insurance, the Weatherford, Oklahoma agency that Solo Select trusts to protect its stallions and program horses, returns as a Gold sponsor of the heeling in the $620,000-added 2026 Solo Select Rope Horse Futurity, Sept. 30 through Oct. 1 at Circle T Arena.

Magill Livestock Insurance is a family-operated agency R. Bruce Magill founded in Weatherford, Oklahoma, in 1971. Working with A-rated carriers, the division writes horse and cattle policies across the continental U.S.

Coverage includes full mortality, which pays a horse's agreed value if it dies from accidental or natural causes or is stolen. Policies also carry $3,000 to $5,000 in emergency colic surgery coverage at no added cost, with optional major medical and loss of use.

Thomas Merritt, Magill's livestock insurance specialist, said the decision to return as a Solo Select Rope Horse Futurity sponsor came down to where the industry is headed.

The event carries a minimum of $620,000 in added money for 4-year-olds across breakaway, tie-down, heading and heeling, with entry fees building each pot from there.
