The Solo Select Futurity is right around the corner, and with entry deadlines quickly approaching, now’s the time to get everything in order.

Set for October 1–2, 2025, at the Circle T Arena in Hamilton, Texas, this first-year event is happening alongside the Clay Logan Open and is shaping up to be one of the most exciting and rewarding futurities the rope horse world has seen—offering an estimated $400,000 in payouts.

Pre-entries opened August 1 and close September 21, and late entries will be accepted from September 22 to 28 with a $500 late fee per horse. Open entry fees are $1,000 per horse, and the Intermediate side pots are $500 per horse, with those pots paying back 100% of entries.

To be eligible to enter at the regular $1,000 entry rate, owners must have purchased a 2025 breeding to any stallion in the Solo Select lineup. That single breeding contract gives the owner the right to enter one horse into the futurity. Riders can compete on any 4-year-old horse, not just offspring of Solo stallions, and may enter up to five horses per class.

According to 27-time World Champion Trevor Brazile, it’s that straightforward approach that makes this futurity stand out. “You don’t have to buy a prospect and be held hostage—you can ride what you have and invest in the future by buying those breedings.”

If an owner does not purchase a breeding, they can still enter the futurity by paying a $5,000 buy-in per horse, valid for one class. Whether you’re entering with a breeding contract or through the buy-in, this structure was designed to keep things simple while contributing directly to the futurity purse.

The event will feature the Las Tunas Performance Horses Heading Futurity, Southern Welding Heeling Futurity, ADM Tie-Down Futurity, and a Ladies-Only Breakaway, with Heading and Heeling also offering optional Intermediate side pots for riders classified as a 6.5 header or 8 heeler or lower under World Series standards. Each class includes two full go-rounds and a clean-slate short round. If a horse qualifies for both the Open and Intermediate short rounds, it will go directly to the Open, with its score rolling into the Intermediate results. There is still one Gold Level sponsorship opportunity available for the Solo Select Futurity. “Ride any horse that you want, as long as it’s 4 years old, and every breeding helps contribute to a bigger purse for the industry,” Solo Select CEO Ty Smith said.

The event will be held at the Circle T Arena, during the Clay Logan Open, which runs October 1–5. With big money, minimal restrictions, and a clear commitment to growing the rope horse industry, the Solo Select Futurity is positioned to become a must-attend event for 4-year-old rope horses and the people who believe in their future.
